69 Questions for Self-Assessment
Whether you have a long way to go toward becoming a Sexually
Confident Wife, or just a little, is based on where you currently
stand. To help you assess where you are on the sexual confidence
scale, here’s a list of 69 questions (pun intended!) to ask
yourself.
This material is excerpted from Chapter 1 of The Sexually
Confident Wife, written by Shannon Ethridge and published by
Broadway Books, a division of Random House.
Counseling
Although Shannon has a master's degree in counseling / human
relations, her busy writing and speaking schedule does not allow her
to offer private counseling sessions. If you are experiencing sexual
or marital struggles beyond the scope of
The Sexually Confident Wife, Shannon encourages you to reach out to a professional
counselor who can usher you through a season of healing. It’s the
best investment you could ever make in your life and marriage!
New Life Ministries
If you need a referral to a local counselor in your area who is
familiar with Shannon’s books on sexual integrity and sexual
intimacy in marriage, call 1-800-NEW-LIFE to talk with a New Life
Ministries operator, or go to

Bethesda Workshops - Marnie Ferree, M.A.

those damaged by sexual abuse and addiction, providing a place
of healing where people can begin a process of restoration with
God, themselves, with others, and within their marriages.
Shannon has personally experienced one of Bethesda’s 5-day
intensive workshops for women in Nashville, TN, and highly
recommends Marnie Ferree and her staff. For more information,

Celebrate Recovery (CR)
There are only two things needed for someone to start recovery: a
desire to stop living in the past and a desire to start living in
the truth. In CR, our focus is on spiritual progress as opposed to
perfection, and as we work through the Christ-based 12 steps, we
become willing to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving our
life problems. We learn that our identities are not based in our
past behaviors. We are believers struggle with past hurts, habits
and hang ups. For more information go to:
www.celebraterecovery.com.
Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA)
Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous is a 12-Step Fellowship of men and
women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to
anyone who has sex addiction or love addiction or both and wants to
do something about it. Since S.L.A.A.’s are all addicts themselves,
they have a special understanding of each other and the disease.
They know what the illness feels like and they have learned how to
recover from it through
S.L.A.A's Twelve Steps.
Sex addiction and love addiction, if left unchecked, always gets
worse. However, if we follow a simple program which has proven
successful for scores of other men and women with the same illness,
we can recover. For more information go to:
www.slaafws.org.
